Frequently asked questions

Answers about Dr Yan Labs, xanthohumol, plant-derived bioactive ingredients, delivery technologies and longevity science - for B2B partners sourcing ingredients and for everyone exploring the Health Club.

About Dr Yan Labs

  • Dr Yan Labs is a Poland-based B2B producer of plant-derived bioactive ingredients and delivery formats for beauty, supplement and nutraceutical brands. Our flagship active is xanthohumol from hops, available as a highly standardized extract and in liposomal form, supported by batch-specific technical documentation. Our platform is expanding into a broader generation of plant-derived actives.

  • No. We supply raw ingredients and technological forms to businesses that formulate their own finished products. We do not sell finished consumer products, and the final formulation stays with the partner brand.

  • Dr Yan Labs operates primarily as a B2B ingredient company. Our consumer-facing platform, Dr Yan's Health Club, explores bioactive compounds, delivery technologies and longevity science, while future consumer products are being developed separately.

  • Dr Yan Labs is based in Poland, in the European Union, and works with B2B partners across European and international markets.

Xanthohumol

  • Xanthohumol is a prenylated chalcone and plant-derived polyphenol naturally found in hops (Humulus lupulus L.). It has attracted extensive scientific interest for its antioxidant activity, Nrf2-mediated cellular defence, inflammatory signalling, metabolism and other biological pathways relevant to healthy ageing and skin biology.

  • Xanthohumol is highly hydrophobic and has very low water solubility, which makes delivery a central part of working with the molecule. Delivery technologies such as liposomes are designed around that chemistry to improve dispersion, stability and transport of the active. For our beauty-grade liposomal xanthohumol, the difference is measurable: in a PAMPA Skin model, our high-fluidity liposomal system achieved more than twice the permeability of non-encapsulated xanthohumol across the model skin barrier.

  • The standardized extract is a high-purity powder for teams that want to engineer their own delivery. The liposomal form is a delivery-oriented format for teams that want that work already done. Both are the same active, xanthohumol, in two forms.

Longevity and the science

  • Polyphenols are a large family of compounds that plants make to handle environmental stress, and many are studied for their antioxidant activity in cells. You already eat them daily, in olive oil, tea, berries, coffee and hops. Xanthohumol is a hop polyphenol.

  • Skin longevity is a framework that treats skin ageing as a set of biological systems - barrier function, inflammatory balance, oxidative stress, mitochondrial health - rather than only surface appearance. The goal is supporting how skin works over time, not just how it looks.

  • Yes. Xanthohumol has been studied in humans for pharmacokinetics, metabolism, safety and bioavailability. In a randomized, placebo-controlled Phase I study, 24 mg of xanthohumol daily for eight weeks was reported as safe and well tolerated in healthy adults.More recently, a 2026 randomized crossover pharmacokinetic study showed how strongly delivery format can influence xanthohumol: a micellar formulation produced approximately ninefold greater bioavailability than native xanthohumol.

For brands (B2B)

  • Yes. We supply xanthohumol as a B2B ingredient to beauty, supplement and nutraceutical brands, as a standardized extract or a liposomal form. Contact us to discuss your project and the right form.

  • Two: a standardized hops extract (a high-purity powder) and a liposomal form (a delivery-oriented technological form). The liposomal form is available for beauty and is offered for supplement and nutraceutical development.

  • Our standardized hops extract typically contains approximately 90-95% xanthohumol. The exact concentration of each batch is confirmed by batch-specific quantitative analysis and supplied with the relevant technical documentation.

  • No. We supply the active, the documentation and knowledge about our own ingredient, including recommended use ranges. The final formulation, format, regulatory status and product claims stay with you or your formulators.

  • These are agreed per project, depending on the form and scope. The standardized extract is held in stock; the liposomal form is made to order. Tell us your application and we’ll share samples and terms.

  • Yes. For selected beauty, supplement and nutraceutical projects, we can work with partners on ingredient selection, liposomal delivery formats and project-specific requirements. Dr Yan Labs focuses on the active ingredient and its delivery technology; the finished formulation and final consumer product remain with the partner.

Documentation and quality

  • Depending on the ingredient and stage of discussion, documentation can include the product specification, a quantitative analytical report, a safety data sheet (SDS), batch-specific data and, for the liposomal form, particle-size data (DLS/PDI). Our data describes the specific batch, not average values.

For you (Health Club)
